Key Projects

  • SWASTHYA KIRAN
"SWASTHYA KIRAN" is a Village Outreach Program by BPSCL that operates a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) once a month. This program has successfully brought health services to 40 peripheral villages at the primary level. The MMU initiative aims to enhance healthcare provision in remote regions. This is achieved through a consistent schedule, fixed days for visits, coordinated services, and comprehensive care facilitated by technology-enabled mobile medical units. These units cater to the unserved and underserved communities in rural villages surrounding the Bokaro Power Plant (BPSCL), where healthcare access is limited. It collaborates with Piramal Swasthya Management & Research Institute (PSMRI), a non-profit with 14 years of experience in delivering primary healthcare to marginalized communities.
  • GIFT MILK
In spite of progress in increasing food production, malnutrition (specifically under-nutrition) remains a persistent problem in most of the Indian households, owing to inadequate consumption of critical nutrients, resulting in significant number of children being stunted, wasted or underweight. It is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in our country among children under 5 years of age.
BPSCL partnered with NDDB foundation for Nutrition in 2018 to launch the GiftMilk Programme. NFN provides 200 ml of fortified milk daily to government school children. Initially covering 2000 children in 7 schools in Jharkhand's Bokaro district through BPSCL's CSR, it now reaches 4000 children daily across 10 nearby Government schools, in the vicinity of BPSCL Power plant.
  • SWAVALAMBAN
Despite its status as the second-largest economic activity, with an annual expenditure of Rs. 3,40,000 Crores and 33 million yearly employees, the Construction Industry lags behind in value addition due to outdated practices.
A major reason for this lies in the absence of modern Human Resource Development systems, affecting around 87% of employed individuals (approximately 27 million workers). This issue also extends to professionals, with the majority of Construction Industry workers facing these challenges.
To address this, BPSCL has partnered with the Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), established by The Planning Commission, Government of India, jointly with the Indian Construction Industry. Under this project, CIDC focuses on enhancing skills for unemployed youth in trades like Electrician, Plumber, Mason, and Surveyor, particularly in surrounding area of the BPSCL Plant.

Apart from the above key projects BPSCL is also…,
